(in all sense he's a example of the paradox, Nadia created him, a Homunculus for one purpose. to go back in time and stop Ati from being killed. Which would result in her never creating Slade. He'd cease to exist at any point in time. Nadia made her homunculus too perfect. Slade has free will, a soul how he was born is the only difference between him and anyone else. He knows that simply because he exists that he either outlives Nadia (unlikely) or ends up dying far into the future a punishment Nadia gave him for showing up once was that she slit his throat, but sense she's his creator only Nadia (or anyone she gives permission too) can physically harm him; he can only die if she makes him die.Sense cutting his throat was a punishment rather than killing him it took away his ability to talk because his vocal cords were cut instead of a major artery or vein )
